National research Portugal

During recent years a number of projects have been developed in Portugal in order to raise awareness of the need for an educational approach to the new media, namely the Internet. Minerva was one of the most important projects developed in the new technologies area between 1989 and 1994, and is well know among educators (parents and teachers). From the work done during these five years, other projects have emerged, using the work, resources and knowledge resultant from Minerva. Meanwhile, some other projects such as ENIS - European Network of Innovative Schools, Educaunet, Seguranet and Internet at Schools, have been developed

The description of these projects is presented in the Initiative's part of this report.
