In Greece research has been carried out in two areas:
This kind of research concerns the universities. Greece as a whole does not have much research concerning the 'teenagers' use of the Internet'. The University of Athens has carried out some small research studies, but these concern a particular section of society (students) and are on a small scale.
Research based on young people (12-18 years old) and the Internet has been started. 451 questionnaires were distributed in three different cities in Greece in three different establishments chosen according to socio-economic status (Aslanidou and Kourti : the use of the Internet by Greek students from 12 to 18 years old). Data is currently being collected for this.
There are some research studies concerned with cognitive psychology but these are also smaller scale :

Greece has not yet carried out many research studies on media education. There have been no studies carried out in the field of introducing media education into the Greek education system. We should mention Sofia Aslanidou's work "The myth of the passive viewer" (ed Dromeas 2000) on exploring the judgements Greek students make about TV messages.
However, Greece participates in many Europeans programmes whose aims include developing critical education.
